As part of a collaboration between USC Annenberg and KCET-TV, second-year graduate student Christine Detz wrote an article titled "How Secure is the Port of Los Angeles?" Her blog post analyzes the extent to which security has been increased at the Port of Los Angeles since the 9/11 attacks. "Port authorities have spent more than $230 million in security upgrades over the last decade, according to port spokesman Phillip Sanfield," Detz wrote. "These improvements include the installation of 400 cameras around the port, an increased port police force and radiation detectors, among others."
