Glenn King is a PhD student at the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. He studies the way US legacy media rationalizes various forms of American intervention in the Global South against the backdrop of revolution, humanitarianism, and authoritarianism. He is interested in how citizen journalism disrupts exceptionalist assumptions that underlie American legacy media reporting.
Prior to joining USC Annenberg, he graduated from the University of The Bahamas with a Bachelor of Education in English language and literature, where he was identified most outstanding in the concentration. He also holds a Master of Arts in Journalism and Creative Media from the University of Alabama. He is passionate about twentieth century world literature and enjoys both creative and polemical writing.
