Truthdig featured “Millennial Momentum—How a New Generation is Re-Making America,” a book by Center on Communication Leadership & Policy senior fellow Morley Winograd, in an article about the increased poverty level in America and how it will affect the Millennial generation. In the book, Winograd and co-author Michael Hais argue that about every 80 years, when the United States falls on hard times, a generation addresses the challenges, solves the issues and the country comes out of the hard time better than before. The authors said the Millennials will solve the problems the United States faces today because they are a realistic and civic generation, as opposed to the ideological generation currently leading the country. "To maximize its chances for success, the United States would be well advised to let its next great generation provide the country with the wisdom and guidance to shape America’s civic ethos in the Millennial era," Hais and Winograd wrote.
