Contributors to USC Annenberg's Neon Tommy produced more than 30 stories surrounding the Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday night.
"It was great to have so many students working long hours out in Hollywood and over pizza in the office to produce and handle all this content," said Marc Cooper, journalism professor and director of Annenberg Digital News. "And their work also produced a real rush of traffic to our site. Some of these producers are freshmen and incoming grads and some are from USC schools other than Annenberg. A great mix." Neon Tommy is a Web-only, Los Angeles-based news source sponsored by the USC Annenberg through Annenberg Digital News. Neon Tommy's visitors depend on it to cover crucial stories that would otherwise fall by the wayside, and to provide meaningful context in a cluttered media landscape. Its fleet of reporters is a powerful presence throughout Los Angeles and across Southern California, with selective coverage of national and international events.
