Henry Jenkins, Provost’s Professor of Communication, Journalism and Cinematic Arts, spoke on a San Diego Comic-Con panel called “Diversity and Fandom 102: How You Can Make A Difference.” The video of the panel, which discussed how fans, consumers and creators can promote diversity in popular culture, was recently posted online. Racebending.com, a group that advocates for underrepresented groups in entertainment, and racialicious.com, a blog focused on the intersection between race and popular culture, co-hosted the panel.
