A partnership between USC Annenberg and the California Health Care Foundation Center for Health Reporting has allowed the investigation and publication of many health-related stories. In a story published by the San Francisco Chronicle, the Fresno Bee and the Bakersfield Californian, reporters analyze the dispatities in the costs of heart procedures across towns in Northern California. "Town's high heart procedure rates raise questions on treatment, costs" is a part of the series titled: "High rates of California heart procedures raise cost, health quality concerns." Another project, "Vaccination Refusers" addresses the decline of vaccinations as California parents sign "personal belief exepmption" forms to exuse their children from school vaccination requirements. "Death by Complication: The Hospital Infection Threat" highlights that about 12,000 Californians die from Hospital-bourne infections each year.
