On Mar. 6, USC Annenberg’s Norman Lear Center announced the winners of the 2013 Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Television Political Journalism.
The winners were selected based on work done during the 2011-2012 election cycle by a panel of nine judges. The panel was chaired by USC Annenberg Professor and School of Journalism Director Geneva Overholser.
“The entries demonstrate that against long odds, TV journalists across the country are determined to get it right in a medium that most Americans still turn to in order to learn about their electoral choices,” said Norman Lear Center Director and USC Annenberg Professor Marty Kaplan.
The awards will be presented at the National Press Club, Washington, D.C., on Friday, April 19.
