The Knight Digital Media Center announced the winners of the 2013 Knight Community Information Challenge, awarding ten local information projects that aim at improving the interaction between people and their governments. See the full list of winners. The USC Center on Public Diplomacy at USC Annenberg announced that Mel Levine will serve as the new chair of its advisory board. An attorney and former U.S. Congressman, Levine is a Director of the Pacific Council on International Policy and has served as U.S. Chair of the U.S.-Israel-Palestinian "Anti-Incitement" committee. "Mel Levine’s international experience, and knowledge of United States policy and governance will help CPD position itself even more prominently in the global dialogue on public diplomacy,” said Ernest J. Wilson, Dean of the USC Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism.
