USC Annenberg scholars and students will present their latest research at the annual conference of the International Communication Association in Dresden, Germany. Manuel Castells (pictured), who holds the Wallis Annenberg Chair of Communication Technology and Society, delivers the opening address. His presentation examines "communication research and public dialogue in the context of the United Nations." In addition, communication professor and ICA fellow Peter Monge will be honored as the 2006 recipient of the B. Aubrey Fisher Mentorship Award, for "outstanding scholars, teachers, and advisors who serve as role models in those capacities and who have had a major impact on the field of communication." Past recipients include communication school director Larry Gross in 2001.
