Communication professor
Manuel Castells joined Annenberg Ph.D. candidate Araba Sey and Annenberg alumnus and Chinese Hong Kong University professor Jack Linchuan Qiu to publish a new book, Mobile Communication and Society: A Global Perspective. Drawing on information from across the globe, the authors examine the impact of wireless technology on our home lives, work relations and society as a whole. The book asks: Is the technological ability to multitask further compressing time in our already hurried existence? From tech-savvy cities to developing countries, the authors take a global look at our future in a mobile network society. The book was also co-authored by Mireia Fernández-Ardèvol, a professor at the University of Catalonia.
