USC Annenberg celebrated the achievements of the Class of 2006 on Friday, May 12. The School of Journalism satellite ceremony honored students receiving B.A. and M.A. degrees in print journalism, broadcast journalism, online journalism, and public relations. The ceremony featured remarks by author and journalist Farai Chideya (top), founder, PopandPolitics.com. The School of Communication satellite ceremony honored students receiving B.A. degrees in communication, M.A. degrees in communication management and global communication, and Ph.D. degrees in communication. The ceremony featured remarks by Craig Newmark (center), founder of craigslist; and Roberto Padilla (bottom), a graduating senior and Luce Scholar recipient. The USC main commencement ceremony featured remarks by Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa. The University also presented an honorary degree to journalism school alum Herb Klein, former White House communications director and editor-in-chief of Copley Press.
