Saba Hamedy is the culture and trends editor for NBC News Digital, where she leads a team that covers internet culture and entertainment news. Previously, Hamedy served as a news editor on CNN’s national desk, where she helped steer coverage of the West Coast and the coronavirus pandemic. She was also an assignment editor at HuffPost, where she led coverage of major news events, such as the death of Kobe Bryant. Hamedy has a background in covering entertainment (at the Los Angeles Times), internet culture (at Mashable), and politics (at CNN). 

She also teaches at the California Scholastic Press Association’s annual high school journalism workshop and serves as a member of the nonprofit’s board. She is a Los Angeles native and a graduate of Boston University.
