Adrienne J. Lawrence brings a dynamic blend of legal expertise and media experience to her role as an adjunct professor at USC Annenberg, where she teaches the Law of Mass Communications. The former big law litigator and award-winning on-air legal analyst offers students a unique perspective on how legal frameworks shape media and communications in today’s complex landscape.

Lawrence is the author of the multi-award-winning book Staying in the Game: The Playbook for Beating Workplace Sexual Harassment (Penguin Random House, 2020), which has been recognized as an essential resource for professionals navigating workplace misconduct and systemic challenges.

In addition to presenting at institutions such as Stanford Law School and the London School of Economics, her insights have been featured by NPR, Harvard Business Review Analytics, The New York Times, and Law360. She also has bylines in The Washington Post, Harvard Business Review, ESPN, Ms., and others.

A passionate advocate for progress and excellence, Lawrence’s work has earned her numerous accolades, including two International Book Awards, recognition as one of the “Top 50 Women Who Can Change the World of Journalism” (2020), and the title of “Voice of the Year” by SheKnows Media (2018). She also has been designated a Progressive Women’s Voice by the Women’s Media Center.

Beyond the classroom, Lawrence serves as the CEO and principal consultant of Bantam Impact Consulting, advising organizations on workplace dynamics, leadership development, and cultural transformation. She also provides thought-provoking op-eds for Straight Arrow News, offering nuanced analysis on pressing legal and social issues.

A proud Trojan, Lawrence holds an MA in Specialized Journalism from USC, in addition to a JD from The George Washington University Law School, an MA from City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and a BS from California State University, Sacramento.
